The beach in Laiya has been my go to beach in Luzon, due to the proximity to Manila and the fact that it’s one of the cleanest beaches you can find nearby.
I went here with my office mates last week. We stayed at La Luz Beach Resort. It’s not a bad resort, but I hate how dark the rooms are. I wished they had normal lighting for the rooms. For overnight stays, the resort requires all of its guests to eat food provided by them which is about a thousand pesos for 3 buffet meals. The food was good but I rather have the option to choose my own since I like bringing my own food and grilling them. I would have rated this an 8 (out of 10) but because of those two things, I give it a 7.
About the beach itself, the water gets deep after a few steps from the shore. Not so great for those who can’t swim. I know how to swim but I’m not confident enough so not so great for me either. Plus I get tired so easily. Also, the beach is very rocky at La Luz, so a pair of aqua shoes is a must.
We only stayed for 1 night, it felt bitin but we needed to go back to Manila to work. Next time I go to Laiya, I want to try out Aquatico, their infinity pool is so tempting!
